Position/Job Title: Parable Advanced Consultant
Reports to: Trustified Team Lead
Salary Range: $65,000 – $100,000/year
Employment Status: Full Time

Job Summary:
As the Parable Advanced Consultant, you will work directly with church pastors, ministry leaders, and finance committees, providing expert financial guidance. Your focus will be on high-level financial consulting, including financial health, best practices, budgeting, projections, forecasts, and strategic decision making and long-term planning. This role requires someone with both financial expertise and a deep understanding of the unique financial challenges churches face.
Key Responsibilities:
Parable Advanced is delivered through a team-based model. This role is a key contributor on that team- leading some responsibilities directly and partnering with other Parable team members on others- so that, together, we consistently deliver the outcomes below for our church partners.
- Provide strategic financial consulting to pastors, ministry leaders, and finance committees, including budgeting, resource allocation, and long-term planning.
- Deliver clear financial analysis and insights through regular reviews of financial health, budget-to-actual performance, trends, and key indicators—translating data into practical next steps.
- Build forecasts and “what-if” scenarios that support decision-making around staffing, initiatives, capital needs, and future planning.
- Advise on stewardship and generosity strategies in a way that aligns financial best practices with the church’s mission and values.
- Support audit and compliance readiness by helping churches maintain strong financial practices, accurate reporting, and appropriate transparency.
- Strengthen client relationships through consistent communication, trusted advisory partnership, and reliable follow-through on Scope of Work commitments.
- Collaborate with Parable Core bookkeepers/accountants to connect day-to-day financial work with higher-level analysis and recommendations.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of scalable Advanced offerings by helping refine frameworks, tools, and repeatable ways of serving churches that can be delivered consistently across the team.
- Stay current on church finance trends and best practices, and represent Parable at conferences and events as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or equivalent preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally with experience working in or with churches or nonprofit organizations.
- Deep understanding of church finances, including budgeting, capital campaigns, giving trends, and compliance requirements.
- Strong financial analysis skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for church leaders.
- Ability to think strategically about the big picture and provide helpful information for church leaders to make decisions.
- Creative problem solving skills, able to identify root issues and provide solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with pastors, ministry leaders, and finance committees at a high level.
