Position/Job Title: Coach
Reports to: Mission Control Lead
Salary Range: $55,000 – $90,000/year
Employment Status: Full Time

Job Summary: The Coach is responsible for leading and developing one of Parable’s bookkeeping/accounting teams (called a “crew”). This role focuses on equipping team members, ensuring high performance, and fostering healthy rhythms that sustain both people and processes. Coaches are ultimately accountable for the crew’s capacity, development, and delivery of service to partners.
This position may support one of several areas of service delivery at Parable—including a general bookkeeping/accounting crew (Account Advisors), the payroll team, or the onboarding team—depending on organizational needs and candidate experience.
Responsibilities:
- Hire and Select the Right People
- Recruit, select, and onboard crew members in alignment with Parable’s values and performance standards
- Assess team composition and adjust as needed to maintain a strong, sustainable crew structure
- Develop and Support Team Members
- Conduct regular 1:1s and quarterly check-ins with each crew member
- Identify training needs and provide or coordinate ongoing development
- Offer coaching and feedback that supports growth and excellence
- Drive Performance and Accuracy
- Set clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable
- Monitor key metrics and outcomes, addressing gaps proactively
- Ensure quality of work, consistency, and timely delivery across the crew
- Protect the Partner Experience
- Monitor partner satisfaction and identify risk of churn
- Collaborate with Account Advisors to ensure partner needs are met
- Step in to support service adjustments, transitions, or partner escalations
- Manage Crew Capacity
- Balance workload across team members to ensure healthy rhythms
- Forecast upcoming work and make adjustments to meet targets
- Plan for future growth by building capacity and identifying bottlenecks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting or operations roles
- At least 2 years of experience leading people, with proven ability to coach and manage teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to lead with clarity and empathy
- Familiarity with financial systems (QuickBooks Online preferred)
- Comfortable using data to inform decisions and drive accountability
- Strong accounting knowledge with the ability to answer team questions and guide on best practices
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment while staying grounded in process and priorities
- Alignment with Parable’s mission and values, especially in supporting churches and ministry leaders
