Webinar: Enhancing Trust in Your Ministry

There are few things that will disrupt a church more than mis-handling of money. Cases of fraud lead to a lack of trust in the leadership of the church. People stop giving and may even leave the church. Worse, the aftermath of fraud can distract the leadership and church from being on mission.

By taking active steps to put the proper processes and controls in place, you can significantly reduce the risk at your church and enhance the trust in your ministry.

Parable has partnered with ECFA to provide a free webinar to teach you the key areas that will prevent against fraud and enhance trust in your ministry. When you have the right processes in place, you can rest easier and spend your time focused on your mission.

You Can’t Ignore Away Fraud

Overseeing the church’s finances is one of the many tasks that pastors are responsible for. However, many pastors aren’t properly trained in the areas of bookkeeping, accounting, and finances. If you don’t know what you need to be doing, you either waste a lot of time trying to figure it out, or try to ignore it. In either case, this isn’t effective in preventing fraud and can keep you from focusing on the mission of the church.

But ignoring it won’t make it go away.

Brotherhood Mutual Insurance estimates that fraud in churches is expected to reach $80 billion by 2025! You need to have the proper processes and accountability in place to prevent fraud in your church.

About ECFA

At ECFA, we desire to step into that role of accountability with ministries who desire to demonstrate a commitment to integrity through ECFA’s Seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship™.

We would like to invite you to join other Parable partners for a live learning call on “Enhancing Trust in Your Ministry” to learn more about assessing how strong your ministry is in areas like board governance, financial management, and responsible stewardship. ECFA helps to ensure churches have the right accounting software, controls, and accountability to oversee their finances well.

A recent survey showed that 2/3rds of people won’t give until a church has established trust. Having the right processes in place to prevent fraud are not just critical to protecting what your church has, but also to being able to grow the church.
