We’re looking for someone who is passionate about serving others, pursuing growth, championing generosity, and living with integrity. You understand the importance of trust, accountability, and giving generously of your time and talents. If this resonates with you, we’d be excited to have you join our team!
We all want to make a difference, and at Parable, we do just that. We are a passionate, servant-hearted team that loves the Church and understands its vital mission. By taking on the administrative and financial burdens of church leaders, we free Pastors to focus on their calling while educating and empowering them to make strategic and informed decisions to shape the future of their church. We’re a generous, trust-driven group committed to empowering others, from the Pastors we serve to our teammates. At Parable, you’ll be part of a culture where we champion each other’s strengths, tackle challenges with joy, and work together to make a lasting impact. We believe in making work meaningful, and we’re here to help you grow—both personally and professionally—while supporting the bigger mission of the Church. With a balance of hard work and healthy life rhythms, you’ll be part of a team that truly finds the fun in numbers, making it a joy for our Pastors to connect with us and know that we have their backs!
We love to put our teammates, partners and others ahead of us. We do this out of a desire to serve. If a proverbial toilet needs to be cleaned, there is a line of volunteers to clean it. “Messes” in church financials grieve us, but we love to roll up our sleeves and grab a mop to clean them up. This is not our job but our passion. We are “mess” experts yet we never hold this mess over partners’ or the teammates’ heads or shame them for creating the mess.
We see strengths in everyone and look for potential. We do our best to recognize, celebrate and leverage those strengths for the productivity and success of the team. We look for ways to call out the times that teammates live out Parable values. We come alongside those that are struggling and help develop them. We know our own roles well enough that we can then call others up to more. We lead by example and influence.
We love to practice our God given gifts of generosity. We are excited to be able to impact the world together in ways none of us could afford to do on our own. We give generously of our time, talent and treasure. We work hard so that we can take great care of our communities and employees. We earmark 10% of our previous year’s income for internal and external giving. This takes the shape of benefits, our annual retreat, and special surprises throughout the year. We also support healthy pastors and their families through retreats and counseling. It also takes the shape of our openness and sharing so everyone is generously informed about our business and what we do.
We are more than our work-selves and believe in and value the whole person. Our minds, bodies and spirits all need attention. Good nutritious food, exercise, goals, dreams and travel in our personal life enhance our work lives. We use Unlimited PTO and fight for ways that others on our team can take it. We recognize that life cannot always be in balance. But, when we have seasons of “busy” or “full on” work, we follow that time with margins and value those things that fill us up again.
We value trust, trustworthiness and being trusted. Parable is trusted everyday with helping to steward millions of kingdom dollars across hundreds of churches. We take great care to double check our work and not rush when it comes to accountability. We are also accountable with the rocks we set and the commitments we make to each other. When trust is broken, we do our best to walk the hard road, lean in and rebuild that trust. We say what we do and we do what we say.
We live all over the world and in many different communities, but we count being together as sacred. We do this through video calls so we can see each other’s faces and walk with each other daily and weekly and we also get together as much as we can in smaller groups virtually and/or in person. This allows a level of creativity and innovation and truly knowing one another’s stories.
These values are all born out of various pain points our leadership team experienced elsewhere in business. We strive to be cutting edge, we strive to be different, and we strive to be an amazing place to work. Our values get us there!
